Unbridled Spirit will receive its world premiere at the Youth Performing Arts School of Louisville as part of a national consortium commission featuring the YPAS Symphonic Band (Kevin Callihan, Director) and bands across the country.
Erich Stem will join the 2024 Alba Music Festival Composition Program as a resident faculty member, serving alongside composers Elliott Miles McKinley, Jennifer Bellor, and J Anthony Allen, as well as guest faculty Carl Schimmel and resident composer Aaron Jay Kernis. The composition program, located in Alba, Italy, takes place during the summer as part of the Alba Music Festival. Participating composers will have the opportunity to take private lessons and engage in masterclasses and workshops. Participants in the program will also have their works performed and professionally recorded by members of the 2024 ensemble-in-residence, the SOLI Chamber Ensemble.
Unbridled Spirit will receive a performance by Winds of the Mountain Empire (Donald Sorah, Director) at Union High School in Big Stone Gap, VA as part of a regional consortium commission featuring the YPAS Symphonic Band (Kevin Callihan, Director) and bands across the country.
Consider will receive a performance by the Juventas New Music Ensemble at the Brattleboro Music Center in Brattleboro, VT as part of Juventas's 20th Anniversary Season. This concert, titled "Studio to Stage", will highlight select works from Juventas's 20-year discography including music by Mari Kotskyy, Jonathan Sheffer, Libby Meyer, and Oliver Caplan.

Las Vegas premiere to take place at the Nextet Festival of new music, featuring UNLV faculty artists Bryan Conger (clarinet) and Shawna Pennock (alto saxophone). Directed by Jennifer Bellor, Ph.D., NEXTET’s November concert will also feature music by Virko Baley, Jennifer Bellor, Viet Cuong, Michael Torke, Diego Vega, and Carl Schimmel. The composers will be at the event to talk about their music and meet with the audience.
